Cooking Up Some Fun!

Since the weather decided to get gross again, we have been trying to keep everyone entertained inside! So.... we did a little "cooking" yesterday. We made a very healthy trail mix, ha, ha!
Here are our ingredients: Goldfish Crackers, Cheetos, Shortbread Cookies, Yogurt Melts, Dried Strawberries & Bananas & Cereal. (told you it was healthy)
I'm sure you are thinking this sounds disgusting, but it was a HUGE hit!

Measuring out the Cheetos, Grant's favorite part
The little girl is our neighbor, Jenna. We have playdates with her every Monday and Friday. It's alot of fun to have such nice neighbors! Jenna also has a little sister, Abby. Grant has a giant crush on Abby. He is constantly giving her hugs and patting her arm and touching her cheek. It's pretty cute!

Finishing up our snack and saying "Cheese" for the camera!

Meeting Jonsey & Daisy

We went back to the Zoo today to meet Rhett & Grant's Hippos! (In case you don't remember, Razzles & Uncle Rincoln adopted the hippos for the boys for Christmas)
Of course the Hippos were not cooperating for our much anticipated photo. Maybe we were there too early, because it appeared they were still asleep!

And of course, back to the little birdies! This exhibit is a crowd pleaser for sure!

Guns & Hoses

Tonight we took the boys to the Guns & Hoses Charity Hockey Game. The Arlington Police and Fire Dept. play each other every year in this game. I think everyone knows that the boys Uncle Lincoln is an Arlington Police Officer and his best friend Jimmy is a Fireman! The boys really had alot of fun running around and watching all the action!
Uncle Lincoln and Rhett
Jimmy and Grant (he was very into what was happening on that ice!)
Watching the Game

Uncle Lincoln on the Ice
Grant picked up a hockey stick and was having a ball!
We may have a future Hockey Player on our hands!

Oh, in case anyone is wondering.... the Guns won!

Meet Emelynne!

Miss Emelynne Audrey Franklin made her big entrance on January 3rd, 6:24 am!
She weighed 9lbs. 14 oz and was 21.3 in. long. She is a beautiful baby and we are all so happy that she is here!

Big Brother Grayson meeting his new sister for the first time!
Rhett wanted to touch her so badly...
(I was trying hard to keep him from doing that, she's brand new, couldn't have my child doing something to her!)
Rhett & Grant meeting their baby cousin for the first time!
Grant was very interested in what I was holding, I eventually had to give her over to Aaron because Grant was starting to melt down. He's a bit of a Moma's boy...
Uncle Aaron holding the sweet baby girl!

Sorry I'm so behind on this post, but we are very happy to have Emelynne join our family!

Oh, her Mom and Dad are doing well too! (minor detail...)

Say What???

The boys were 18 months old on Monday.

We went to the doctor and everyone is doing well!

Rhett: 23 lbs. 12 oz. 34 1/2 in.

Grant: 24 lbs. 8 oz. 33 1/2 in.

This is a video from them playing outside today. I'm starting to think they may have their own language, I've heard that many twins do this. Anyway, they were just talking away to each other and handing things back and forth and running around like they knew exactly what the other one was saying! Of course they stopped once I started videoing, but here they are...

Whew! This is It...

So, once again I uploaded the pictures in the wrong order and for the life of me can't figure out how to move them around. I'm sure it's something simple, but I don't have the patience to mess with it...

This is the ride home, we were loaded to the top and worn out!
Aaron and I went over to Amarillo one evening to visit his grandparents. His grandmother was having to stay in a rehab facility because she had to have surgery on her hip, I believe, AGAIN! I feel so bad for her, this was the 3rd time within a year...
Anyway, it was their Anniversary and the nurses had given them a nice little bunch of balloons. So, they sent them home to the boys
They both Loved them!

They thought it was super fun to let go of them and watch them float to the top of the ceiling and then of course wanted Daddy to hold them up there to get them again!
Sleeping in with Razzles, I'm sure she won't appreciate this picture, but I just think it's so sweet!
Trying to reach his ball...
While we were in Pampa, it snowed several inches. Since we had bought the boys nice winter coats and snow boats for just such an occasion, I couldn't resist letting them go out and play.

They did not like getting it on their hands, I'm sure it was very cold!

Well, that's the end of our Pampa adventures!

Now it's back to our "boring" lives here, HA, Ha!!!

Christmas Day Continued...

And so the gift opening starts again! Aunt Jamie and Uncle Scott got the boys this cool toy that has all kinds of games and puzzles on each side. We opened that up right away hoping to keep them entertained while everyone else enjoyed the gift exchange. As you can see, it did keep them entertained... The BOX that is! What is it with kids and boxes???

Well, maybe this is better than that box...
Natalie and Jaycee got some very big bean bags from Grandma and the boys thought these were wonderful. The girls were very sweet to share their bean bag time with Rhett & Grant.
Thanks Girls!
Diving off the stairs into the bean bag, again how do little boys know how to do this stuff?
Big Surprise, Rhett sitting in Razzles lap!
Opening their chairs from Grandma, they are being painted right now to match their rooms.
As you can see, the chairs are a big hit!
Playing with his new puzzle. They have recently discovered that they can take two of the pieces and bang them together like cymbals, it's such a lovely noise!

Well another year has come and gone and again we find ourselves being so very blessed!

Thank You to all our Family for such a great Christmas, we love you ALL!

"I Want A Hippopotamus for Christmas"

"And only a Hippopotamus will do!"
Coming down the stairs Christmas Morning

Santa Presents
I think the boys were very good this year!
Looking at the new toys, not exactly sure what to do
OH, wait! These are for Us!
Santa left a cute pink colander for Mommy and Rhett thought it was lots of fun!

Razzles and Uncle Rincoln gave the boys such cool gifts! This will explain the title!
They adopted 2 Hippos from the Ft. Worth Zoo for the boys. (Don't worry, they aren't moving into our pool or anything! It just pays for food for them for a year) Anyway, their names are Jonsey and Daisy. The boys have their adoption certificate, pictures of the Hippos and stuffed hippos from the zoo! And, so that the boys can go see their animals whenever they like, Razzles and Rincoln got them a Zoo Membership! YEA!!!
Grant has started this new thing of trying really hard not to smile, but as you can see, he's not very good at it!
Rhett had more fun helping everyone else open their presents than his own
Grant giving his new horse a kiss
Helping GiGi open her gift
Playing with the new gas pump for their Cozy Coupes. They aren't sure what to do with the part that goes in the gas tank, they usually just hold it up to their ear and talk into it!

Trying out his new Turbo Turtle!
